Dele Momodu poses a thought-provoking question to Ayo Fayose after the ex-governor criticized a gateman with four wives and sixteen children.

Dele Momodu asks Ayo Fayose an interesting question after the former governor knocked a gateman with 4 wives and 16 children

Media personality, Dele Momodu, has tackled Ayo Fayose after the former Ekiti governor knocked a security man who is married to four wives and has sixteen children.

While speaking on Channels TV on Monday, July 29, Fayose was asked to speak on the economic hardship being experienced all over the country. In his response, Fayose claimed men having many wives and children, an experience he witnessed in the North, is a problem to Nigeria's growth.

He said he visited a Northern state sometime back and a security guard told him he had worked there for over 20 years and was earning a meager salary. Fayose said he asked the man about his family and was shocked when the man told him he had four wives and sixteen children.

‘’I went to one state in the North. I was there for three days. In the course of my stay, I got familiar with people in that part of the government house that I stayed. The gateman told me he has been in government work for 26 years. When I asked what is your salary, he said the money is small and that it is N34, 000. I said how many children do you have and he said he has sixteen and four wives.

My brother! The problem is inside us for God's sake. If someone is earning N34,000, what can government do with 17 children? We don't want to be realistic. Another person said he has eight children and three wives and one of the wives is still expecting.

A lot has to be done by our people too''

His comment has received mixed reactions from many Nigerians.

Momodu while reacting to his comment asked the former government that between the poor man with many wives or a ‘Nigerian politician with several girlfriends who wastes public resources on extravagant lifestyles including private jet,' who is more destructive to the nation.

Momodu in his reaction shared on his Instagram page, wrote;

"My dear Brother AYO FAYOSE, I have just two questions Sir: who is more destructive to the nation, the poor man with plenty wives and children or the politician with one wife and many high maintenance girlfriends, who wastes public resources on extravagant lifestyles including private jets? Who is more productive, the politician who steals the sweats and resources of the citizens or the poor man who sends his many poor wives and children to the farmlands to grow crops for everyone of us!!!

Your Excellency, my dear Brother, please, let's all accept that we've failed this country and we need urgent reset. We cannot afford the blame games at this perilous time... May God forgive our transgressions...

He said;

“This is our own little response to the very condemnable events that happened over the weekend. We are all very quick to condemn men of the Nigeria Police, especially when they are found wanting. We are always very quick to also admonish them. But the event that we all saw over the weekend showed that indeed there are some very commendable Police officers.

“In the real heat of provocation, ASP Erhabor displayed high quality of restraint. He displayed calmness and restrained himself from taking laws into his hands. And I think for that little gesture, it is important for us to bring him out so that we also can use him as a testimonial and encouragement for other Police officers to show that indeed they can be civil and that Police are meant to protect our citizens."

Danfo buses will be remodelled to meet modern standard- Governor Sanwo-Olu says

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that the yellow buses popularly known as ‘danfo’ will  be remodelled to meet modern standard and not scrapped as earlier  reported.
Recall that in February this year, the state Commissioner for Transportation, Frederick Oladeinde, said the yellow buses do not have a place in the transportation master plan of the state, suggesting that they will be scrap  soon by the Sanwo-Olu administration.
However, during an interview with Channels TV over the weekend, Governor Sanwo-Olu said it will be unfair to scrap ‘danfos’ as they have served Lagos residents for a long time.
“It will be unfair for us. These are important stakeholders. They served our citizens. They served Lagosians for a long time. It became the print of Lagos, the yellow buses.
Let’s be very creative. Let’s see how we can remodel them without scrapping them out. We are collaborating with them. You know that our citizens now deserve newer models of cars.” the governor said
On the mass transit buses that were destroyed during the #EndSARS protest in October 2020, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the state government is currently working with a local bus manufacturing company to replace the burnt ones. He said although the buses were insured, the insurance did not cover “unforeseen circumstances”.
“Absolutely, we are trying to replenish them, we have started the compensation and the interesting thing is that we are working with a local bus manufacturing company.
And it is going to come almost with the same specifications of the ones that were unfortunately destroyed so that Lagosians can have the same feel of the buses.
They were insured. Insurance will never cover you 100 percent.”

    EX- Malawi President Joyce Banda authenticate Oby Ezekwesili for President

    Former Malawi President Joyce Banda endorses Oby Ezekwesili for President | BellaNaija

    Former President of Malawi Joyce Banda has endorsed the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) presidential candidate Oby Ezekwesili.
    Banda credited the international exposure and transparent and accountable skills, which she said would help the growth of Nigeria.
    Ezekwesili “possesses the ability to fight corruption,” she said, adding that the former minister’s advice saved her from corruption allegations.
    “While fighting corruption during my presidency in 2013, Oby Ezekwesili advised me to protect myself with a forensic audit, which United Kingdom government supported. I am forever grateful for this transparent, accountable daughter of Africa; a servant leader pushing #Nigeria #Hope2019,” she said.
    Ezekwesili assured Nigerians that she would put in place structures to help battle corruption.
    Needless to say, every other area in our comprehensive manifesto, including our anti-corruption, sports, foreign policy, security agenda, and every other programme of our platform, will be evaluated on three questions: How much wealth is it going to generate? How many jobs is it going to create? And how many people it will get out of poverty?
    We will measure our economic success as a government, not by the number of private jets parked at our airports, but by the number of Nigerians we lift out of poverty who go on to live richer lives. We mean business.
    We will put in place a massive programme of deregulation of the Nigerian economy to unleash the depth of competition and efficiencies necessary for higher and deeper economic growth and expansion of the economy. The division and rebalancing of roles between business and government will reduce opportunities of corruption and bottlenecks that limit the competitiveness of the Nigerian economy.
