Jaiye Kuti named Lagos state Polytechnic's ambassador

Jaiye Kuti was recently honoured by Lagos state Polytechnic – The big, bold and beautiful actress was made an ambassador of LASPOTECH – She was announced alongside Olanrewaju Olakanlu Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Jaiye Kuti, Rector LASPOTECH and Olakanlu Jaiye Kuti, LASPOTECH rector Samuel Sogunro and Olakanlu Bold and beautiful Nigerian TV series queen Jaiye Kuti has been announced as the face of Lagos state Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) by the rector of the higher institution Samuel Sogunro. Kuti was mentioned alongside Olanrewaju Olakanlu of Mr and Mrs Kogberegbe television series who is an alumnus of the prestigious higher institution. The duo was announced as ambassadors of LASPOTECH during the rector’s birthday celebration. Olakanlu was also commended for being a worthy alumnus of the school who gives back to his Alma Mata often. Meanwhile, winners have emerged in the first edition of the screenplay writing competition organized by the department of Mass Communication, Lagos State Polytechnic and Creative Village Productions, USA, a media firm owned by Olakanlu. The students were asked to write a 15-minute television documentary screenplay on the “Sounds of Lagos”. Eke Victor, who emerged the first winner got the coveted prize of a 10-inch android tab, while the first runner up, Michael Orodare also got a 10-inch android tab and an opportunity to feature in Nollywood thespian, Jaiye Kuti’s upcoming movie Oro Mi (a true life story). Akindele Rebecca and Sunday Odeleye, who emerged second and third runner-ups respectively also got prizes. The Director of Creative Village Productions, Olanrewaju Olakanlu, while speaking at the award presentation ceremony held at the Engineering Lecture Theatre Hall of LASPOTECH, said he decided to host the competition to give back to the Polytechnic that impacted him with knowledge. READ ALSO: I Have Lost Count Of Men Who Want Me – Jaiye Kuti On why he chose the topic Sounds of Lagos, Olakanlu said after looking round, he discovered that no one has done any project on the daily sounds that characterize the city of Lagos. He thanked the students for participating in the competition. Jaiye Kuti urged the students not to lose their inner beauty because it is what they have inside of them that will make them stand out. Jaiye Kuti has featured in many sitcoms including Face to Face, Laugh Patterns and Everyday People, One Love and Spiders among others.
